Our speaker, Susan Flanders, is a retired Episcopal priest who currently works with parishioners at St. Columbia’s Episcopal Church in DC on end-of-life issues.
In 2018, Rev Flanders wrote a book based on her experiences with her father’s end of life with Alzheimer’s, entitled If I Ever Lose My Mind: Aid in Dying with Advanced Dementia.
While Susan’s family members, including both her father and husband have given her a close-up understanding of the disease, her role counselling her parishioners has only broadened her perspectives on The Experience and Outcomes of Living with Dementia
We will spend our first hour together hearing from and engaging with our speaker – who will talk about the experiences and outcomes of living with dementia
We will spend our second hour working with Compassion and Choices Advance Directive for Dementia on planning for the end of life with dementia and getting some advice from our speaker on choices at the end.
