We are pleased to offer this opportunity to see one of the best plays of Washington's fall theater season.
Journey back to 1959 for an unforgettable rendezvous with Lady Day herself—the incomparable Billie Holiday performed by DC legend Roz White, in the role she was born to play. The Helen Hayes Award-winning White just completed the national tour of TINA: The Tina Turner Musical.
This acclaimed play with music transports you to a small bar in Philadelphia for one of the icon’s final concerts. The story interweaves Billie Holiday's music with humorous and poignant reminiscences about her life, both joyful and heartbreaking, exploring her loves and losses, and her ability to find humor in hardship. Mosaic's production transforms the theater into an immersive nightclub complete with a live band and cocktails.
Featured are Holiday’s most famous songs, including “Ain’t Nobody’s Business if I Do,” “God Bless the Child,” “Strange Fruit,” and “What a Little Moonlight Can Do.”
Seats are not reserved, though accessible seating can be arranged in advance. Please let us know when you register. Tickets will be distributed by a Village member who will be standing in the box office area. Please arrive by 2:30 p.m. to get a good seat.
