This tour will provide a fun and educational behind-the-scenes look at how a public radio station operates. It includes a visit to WAMU’s radio production studios, performance spaces, and work areas. We're scheduled to observe parts of two programs in progress, 1A and The Politics Hour with Kojo Nnamdi, which are both produced by WAMU.
1A's name is inspired by the First Amendment, and the program explores a wide variety of national and international issues involving policy, politics, and technology as well as subjects such as art and theater, pop culture, sports and humor. The program is hosted by Jenn White and is distributed nationally by the National Public Radio (NPR). On Friday's The Politics Hour, host Kojo Nnamdi and resident analyst Tom Sherwood engage in a weekly review of the politics, policies and personalities in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
