Join DCV member and historian of the DACOR Bacon House, Terry Walz, for a tour of the Federal style, four story brick mansion that was built in 1825 for the US marshal for the District of Columbia.  It has been owned by five prominent people, including a chief justice of the Supreme Court, the Clerk of the Supreme Court, the Countess of Yarmouth, and finally Mrs. Robert Low Bacon, a savvy and well-known Washington hostess and patron of the arts.  Also, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a two-time recipient of the American Institute of Architects Award in historical preservation and architecture.

There will be an optional lunch afterwards at a location nearby to be determined. 15 guests are invited.

Where to meet:

We will meet at 10:20 AM at the entrance to the House on 1801 F. St. NW, between 18th and 19th Streets.   See calendar for metro directions and accessibility information.
