We are pleased to offer half price tickets to Washington Stage Guild's production of Shaw’s Shorts, three of George Bernard Shaw’s most delicious one-act plays..

In O’Flaherty VC, the winner of the Victoria Cross for outstanding bravery, is confronted by his Irish-to-the-core Catholic mother, incensed to discover he’s been fighting for the British.  In the imaginative The Dark Lady of Sonnets, Will Shakespeare goes to the palace to meet his Dark Lady to whom he addressed sonnets of love, only to find Her Majesty the Queen instead – followed by the Dark Lady herself who lambasts them both!  Plus, Interlude at the Playhouse, a comic curtain-raiser in which a nervous theater owner must give a big speech at a gala opening, but his wife may have to save the day.

“Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.” – G.B. Shaw

The theater is located on the ground level of the Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church at 900 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, walking distance from the Metro Center, Chinatown, and Mt. Vernon Square metro stops. For parking info check out the Stage Guild’s website: https://stageguild.org/plan-your-visit/

Seats are not reserved, though accessible seating can be arranged in advance. Please let us know when you register.

Tickets will be distributed by a Village member who will be standing in the box office area.  Please arrive by 2:00 p.m. to get a good seat.
