What’s the matter with rural America?
Rural communities are grappling with major complex, interrelated challenges, which affect the nation’s overall health. To help us unpack these, join our Soup Salon guest Joe Belden. His expertise: rural issues, poverty and affordable housing, and US history and politics. Belden has taught at American University’s OLLI program, the Allende Institute in Mexico, and other venues; served as Deputy Executive Director of the Housing Assistance Council, a national nonprofit that helps low-income rural communities build affordable housing; and worked at USDA, on Capitol Hill and for several DC-based think tanks.
Contributions of soup or dessert are welcome, but not necessary to attend.
