Tour - the Contemporary Sculpture in the Federal Triangle
Registration Info
Registration has closed - Event is past
Plan to meet for the tour at 11:20 at the top of the escalators of the Federal Triangle metro stop. In order to catch the blue, orange, or silver lines that stop there, you can either take the Red Line Metro and transfer trains at Metro Center. Or you can take a 42/43/L2 bus from Adams Morgan or Dupont Circle to the Farragut West Metro Station on 17th and I Streets and take trains that go directly from there to the Federal Triangle stop.
The tour will end at the Old Post Office building on Pennsylvania and 12th, with an optional trip to the
top.
About this event
Join other Dupont Circle Villagers on a tour of D.C.’s Federal Triangle, home to several public sculptures that span nearly a century. The tour will highlight contemporary and historic public sculpture in the Triangle and conclude at the Old Post Office building for an optional (on your own), free trip to the top with a 360 degree view of the city.
The tour will visit one building, but most of the tour is outdoors. You will need a photo ID to enter the Ronald Reagan Building, and should expect a brief bag check.
The tour will move from the Federal Triangle Metro exit, to the Reagan building, and then to the Old Post Office. It involves about 30 minutes of walking, with pauses to talk. There are places to sit at the Reagan building, but not a lot of options elsewhere.
The tour will last about an hour, with an optional lunch afterwards in a location to be determined.
15 guests are invited.
