About this event

Black artists are among the creative talents at the center of a global shift, reports the New York Times.  For more about this phenomenon, join our February in-person Soup Salon.  Featured: Villager Joele Michaud, gallery docent and video presenter to remote classrooms and audiences for the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Renwick Gallery and the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Notably, SAAM houses one of world’s most significant collections of African American artists, spanning three centuries of creative expression in various media. We will hear more about this from our guest speaker, whose special interests lie with African American art and history, and other African-influenced cultures. Her topic: Modern African American Art.  Joele is a retired art educator and amateur artist.  She is also a lover of jazz and classical music, an avid reader, and a neophyte learner of Spanish and French.

Contributions of soup, dessert or wine are welcome but not required. Please let the hosts know if you are bringing something.
