Seniors Poetry Practicum with Susan Meehan and Grace Cavalieri

Join Susan Meehan, winner of the DC Poet Project, for a poetry practicum designed for seniors!

Susan is a longtime resident of the Dupont Circle Village, and lifelong appreciator and practitioner of poetry. As described in a recent profile on NPR, “A longtime city employee and neighborhood leader in D.C., Meehan writes raw and descriptive poetry extracted from her autobiography.”

Susan will read a few of her poems, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own poems to workshop with the group.

At this event Susan will be joined by Grace Cavalieri. Grace is the author of eight books of poetry, most recently Other Voices, Other Lives (ASP, 2017), and is the recipient of the Pen-Fiction Award, the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Award, and The Bordighera Poetry Prize. Grace has a particularly good ear for helping emerging poets.

Come share the love of poetry! Bring your own or favorite poetry to share! Come enjoy some lunch!

This is the first in a series of poetry luncheons at the Dupont Circle Village. Save these dates for the upcoming events in our village: Friday April 20, and Friday May 18.
