DIRECTIONS

By Metro (Subway):
The closest Metro stops are:
Capitol South (Orange, Blue and Silver Lines, 0.3 miles)
Union Station (Red Line, 0.5 miles).

By Metro Bus:
The 32 and 36 buses stop at First Street and Independence Avenue, a two block walk from the Building.

The tour will include information about the Court’s history, how cases are reviewed, and the design and decor of the building, as well as a chance to view non-public spaces (as available).  We will meet at the Visitor Desk on the ground floor which is just after you pass through security ground floor by 9:15 AM.

Lorna Grenadier, a Villager and Supreme Court docent, will lead the tour.  After the tour, all are welcome to stay for lunch in the Court’s cafeteria or visit other exhibits.  


Please limit carry items. No water or food are allowed.  Visitors may be asked to remove belts. Lockers will be provided if needed.


The Supreme Court is located on First Street NE between East Capitol Street and Maryland Avenue, adjacent to the U.S. Capitol and the Library of Congress.  View area map.

Visitors may enter the building from the Plaza doors located on each side of the main steps.  A wheelchair accessible ramp is located along Maryland Avenue on the left side of the building.  All visitors must pass through security screening before entering the building.
